TOUGH BOY is the opening theme song of the Fist of the North Star 2 anime, performed by the rock band TOM★CAT. It is paired with LOVE SONG, which is the part's ending theme.
Opening Animation[edit]
Part 5[edit]
The opening begins with a shot of Kenshiro, facing away from the camera, walking toward a sunset. The camera cuts three times, getting closer to Ken each time until he turns around and the logo for the anime forms. After a bit, the "2" of the logo has a glowing effect zoom down it, and the number illuminates.
It changes back to Kenshiro, who is flexing his muscles and causing his clothes to rip. It cuts to a scene of Bat, who is holding a crossbow, and Rin on a motorcycle in a mountain-like area, and the camera swirls around and zooms in on them. Bat points the bow at the camera and Rin walks to the right eventually cutting to a scene of a beat-up Bat being bandaged by Rin. Bat lifts his fist into the air as they two get held up by the other members of the Hokuto Army.
The camera begins panning across a shot of a ruined city until it shows Ken sitting atop Kokuoh. Bat and Rin turn around to notice him, and excitedly begin running toward him. A shot of Kenshiro standing up with wind bowing his hair is shown, and Bat and Rin eventually join him until it zooms into Rin's left eye.
It cuts to Bat, riding his motorcycle down a cliff and Ken and Kokuoh begin racing him. Bat drives past Rin, who looks concerned, as he begins going to the Imperial Capital. Falco is then shown rising to the center of the camera, getting bigger and bigger until he takes up the whole screen. In the darkness of Falco's cloak, Jakoh is shown posing with his arms with afterimage stylization. Kenshiro, enraged, begins punching at Falco who retaliates back by cutting Ken's face and the two hold their arms up together. It changes to a scene of dark cloud, with lighting striking the earth, creating a revine that Kenshiro jumps out of while posing.
Part 6[edit]
Part 6 features a slightly different opening animation.
Where the Imperial Capital was shown previously, the shore of the Land of Shura is shown instead. It cuts to silhouetted warriors from the land, with Kaioh on top of them. The outline of the top of Kaioh's helmet and armor zooms down toward the camera multiple times. Kenshiro is then shown clashing with a silhouette of Hyoh instead of Falco, who eventually turns into the completely black Kaioh as the camera turns around.
