History[edit]
Shin quietly desired Kenshiro's fiancée Yuria ever since they first met. After the Nuclear War took place he was coerced by Jagi into attacking Ken and taking Yuria from him. When he confronted them, Shin paralyzed Ken and engraved the seven scars in his chest in the shape of the Big Dipper and forced Yuria to swear her love for him.
Over the course of the next year Shin and his army overtook an area and built the city of Southern Cross to prove his love and loyalty to Yuria, which she did not accept. As Shin continued his atrocities, he drove Yuria to try and commit suicide by leaping from the palace balcony. Yuria survives because of the intervention of the Nanto Goshasei who came to rescue her from the imminent invasion of Kenoh's Army. He allowed them to take Yuria and entrusted them with her custody.
After being informed of the defeat of Spade by Kenshiro, he orders Diamond to go after him. After Diamond's defeat and Ken along with Bat get to Southern Cross, Club fights Ken and is eventually defeated. Ken now knowing Shin's identity as the leader of KING leads him to confront him once more, but then Shin brings out Heart, an obese man who is immune to Kenshiro's Hokuto Shinken. However, Ken is able to defeat Heart anyways and he pursues to fight Shin again.
The two fight once again and Ken, driven by Shin's words in their first battle, defeats Shin by punching his vital points in the shape of Shin's symbol, the Bloody Cross. Shin then lies to Ken, telling him that Yuria actually died from jumping off the balcony, and not wanting to die by Ken's hand, jumps from the balcony in the same vein as Yuria. Ken then properly buried Shin's body out of their mutual love for the same woman.
