Shu (シュウ Shū) is the successor of Nanto Hakuroken, one of the branches of Nanto Seiken, and the leader of the Resistance against the Holy Emperor. He is blind and bears the destiny of the Star of Benevolence, Jinsei, that is fated to serve and protect the children of the future generation and who saved Kenshiro in the past.

Family[edit]
- Shiba: Shu and Shiba are not shown directly interacting with one another. After Shiba sacrifices his life to save Kenshiro's, and Ken informs him of this, Shu is shown to be very saddened.
Allies[edit]
- Kenshiro: Ken held Shu to a high regard because in the past Shu took his own eyesight to save Ken's life after a duel the two had in the past. When the two reunited years later they joined forces to try and stop Souther's tyranny. In Shu's dying moments he regained his eyesight and was able to see Ken and how he had matured since their past clash.
