Last Battle, originally The New Legend of the Post-Apocalyptic Messiah: Fist of the North Star (新世紀末救世主伝説 北斗の拳 Shin Seikimatsu Kyūseishu Densetsu: Hokuto no Ken), is a side-scrolling beat 'em up game for the Sega Genesis/Mega Drive made by Sega based on the Fist of the North Star series.
In the west, the game was rebranded and removed all references to Fist of the North Star.
Gameplay[edit]
Like its predecessor Black Belt, Last Battle has players face different enemies depending on the current stage and occasninally a toughter boss opponent. There is a power-up meter that gradually fills up as players defeat more and more eneimes, and once full the player can transform into a super-powered state that lasts for the rest of the stage. Each stage has a countdown timer that, one depleted, slowly drains the player's health until they either complete the level or die.
