—Bat to Kenshiro, Chapter 1: A Cry from the Heart!
Bat (バット Batto) is a young theif that begins to follow Kenshiro at the beginning of his journey, and appoints himself as his sidekick and manager. After Raoh's defeat, he and Rin form the Hokuto Army to defend the innocents in Ken's absence.
Appearance[edit]
Child[edit]
As a kid, Bat had tall, messy hair that we wore goggles over. He wore a jacket with a hood that was always unbuttoned or unzipped with short sleeves and pockets with a long sleeve shirt under it. He wore pants with sneakers and bandages from his calves down to his ankles.
Adult[edit]
When he grew up into an adult, Bat became a man of average height with a muscular build. He grew his hair longer and swept it to the side and moved his goggles to around his neck, like a necklace.
He wears a light outfit, with buttons over his right pec, and a darker area over his lower abs. He has large shoulder pads with a ribbon on the left, and arm braces over his wrists. He wears a belt that is higher on his waist on the right side. He wears pants of a similar coloring to his shirt that has two pockets on the right leg with large boots.
Sometimes he wears a turban that is completely wrapped around his face to conceal his identity.

Allies[edit]
- Kenshiro: Bat appointed himslef as Ken's partner and "manager" and the two would then go on to face Shin's gang, KING, and a few other enemies. Although sometimes crude or insenitive, Ken would protect him and Bat would go on to look up to Ken.
- Rei: At first Bat was wary of Rei, thinking that if Kenshiro revealed to him that he had seven scars like the man he was searching for, they would fight. Eventually, Bat grew to trust Rei and turned to his help when Kenoh's Army attacked Mamiya's village.
